Namio Harukawa’s Gender-Swapped “Hentai” Art

namio harukawa is a japanese artist known for inverting the traditional themes of hentai and other graphic erotica of his country which typically (but not universally) depict men in positions of sexual control over young (or even underage) women, who are usually submissive, often groped (secretly but in public, like on a crowded train), sometimes bound, and occasionally degraded through extremely humiliating acts, such as scatophilia and the like. (however, it should be noted that the latter is considered highly deviant even in japan.)

as with the work of eric stanton, a western counterpart, harukawa’s women occupy the dominant role. they are physically large and either stimulating themselves on the trapped or bound men, or they are aloof to the point of engaging in everyday activities while being stimulated, seemingly oblivious to their smaller, humiliated partners, who may or may not be forced to pleasure them.

it goes without saying that harukawa’s art is still considered somewhat shocking both in japan and the west. i’m curious to hear your reaction.
